CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Police in Chattanooga have closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 after a tractor-trailer truck hauling a hazardous cargo overturned.
The crash occurred about 5:20 a.m. EDT Friday at the Brainerd Road exit.
Police public information officer Nathan Hartwig said all southbound lanes were closed and it wasn’t clear how soon any would be reopened.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation website predicted the road would remain closed through the morning commute. Southbound traffic on I-75 is being diverted onto alternate routes.
