Troy — A 14-year-old boy who escaped from a youth facility in Pontiac was arrested by police after he stole a dump truck and rolled it on a southbound ramp on Interstate 75.
The incident occurred at about 11 p.m. Wednesday night when an officer saw the truck heading off the ramp at a high rate of speed near Rochester Road, according to Troy police.
The truck rolled over and the teenager ran off across Rochester Road where he was captured in a weedy field.
The unidentified teen told police he had escaped from the Children’s Village in Pontiac and was trying to get to Detroit.
