TRAFFIC ALERT: I-75 SB lanes closed near Brooksville exit

Brooksville, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol has reopened all southbound lanes on I-75 near the Brooksville exit following a crash involving a semi Friday afternoon.

Troopers say the accident occurred around 1:49 p.m. when a Dodge 2500HD pickup truck was traveling south on I-75 towing a 30-foot utility trailer when another vehicle ahead of the truck slowed.

The driver of the pickup, 72-year-old Morris Oldham, slowed down and tried to avoid a collision, but when he did that, the truck and its trailer jackknifed and overturned onto the southbound lanes.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for three hours while the trailer full of household items was removed from the roadway.

Neither Oldham, nor his passenger, were injured in the crash.
