Tampa woman dies in I-75 accident

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A 76-year-old woman from Tampa was killed Saturday evening in a crash on I-75.

Florida Highway Patrol said Gloria Jean Portis was a passenger in the car.

The driver of the car, who has not been identified, went off the roadway near the Fowler Avenue overpass.

The left side of the car hit the median, then traveled back across all lanes of northbound Interstate 75.

FHP said the car left the roadway a second time and traveled onto the right shoulder, then collided with a concrete barrier wall.

Portis died at the scene of the crash.
