Semi-truck fire closes NB I-75 outside Toledo early Wednesday morning

(WXYZ) – A severe semi-truck fire Wednesday around 12:20 a.m. has left a portion of I-75 near Toledo shut down this morning.

The accident happened on the northbound side of I-75 at the Ottawa River Rd. exit — just three miles south of the Ohio-Michigan border.

Officers say a driver of a car carrier slowed down to avoid a deer when a semi-truck rammed into the back of the carrier. The semi-truck then burst into flames.

Police say no one was hurt in the crash.

We’ve checked with police, and they say the northbound side of the freeway is still closed.

TROY, Michigan — Authorities say a stretch of northbound Interstate 75 in suburban Detroit is closed because of a semi-truck crash and fire.

Detroit-area broadcasters report the crash happened early Friday in Troy and forced authorities to detour traffic around the area.

There was no immediate word of injuries.

The freeway remained closed several hours after the crash on Friday morning as authorities were at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

Truck rolls over spilling lumber onto northbound I-675 ramp closing highway

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI — Commuters traveling north on I-75 were unable to enter the I-675 ramp earlier today, as a flipped semi truck and the wood it was carrying blocked the roadway.

The rollover crash occurred before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, according to Saginaw County 911.

Police, along with several wreckers arrived at the scene.

Traffic to northbound I-675 was blocked for hours as workers cleared the truck and its load of lumber from the ramp. I-75 traffic was not impacted by the crash.

Planks of wood also fell over the side of the roadway, onto a hill adjacent to the interchange. Workers were seen collecting the wood from the grass-covered area.

Police had left the scene before 3 p.m., Saginaw County 911 reported.

No word has been given as to the cause of the crash or whether any injuries were suffered.

BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, MI — Michigan State Police have closed the ramp from northbound Interstate 75 to northbound I- 675 while public safety officials respond to a semi tractor-trailer crash reported at 11:23 a.m. by the Saginaw County media paging system.

The semi truck is rolled over and blocking the entrance to northbound I-675. Lumber from the truck could be seen scattered across the road.

Nine Injured In I-75 Crash

Nine Michigan women headed to the Kentucky Derby were injured in a one-vehicle crash on southbound I-75 near the S. Otter Creek Rd. accident about 11:45 a.m. today.

All lanes of traffic on southbound and northbound I-75 have reopened.

Authorities said nine women were in the red Pontiac minivan when the driver swerved to avoid a piece of furniture in the road. The van rolled over and hit the guardrail.

One woman was seriously injured and taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Another had substantial injuries to an arm. Two others had minors injuries. Three women suffered cuts and bruises, authorities said.

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies and troopers from the Monroe post of the Michigan State Police were on the scene as well as the LaSalle Township and Luna Pier volunteer fire departments and Promedica ambulance.

BIRCH RUN TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Officials say a stretch of Interstate 75 between Saginaw and Flint is fully reopened following the crash of a tanker truck hauling acrylic acid.

The southbound lanes near the crash scene about 70 miles northwest of Detroit were reopened earlier Monday.
