L. Brooks Patterson injured in serious car crash



AUBURN HILLS, Mich. –

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson has been injured in a serious car crash at Walton Boulevard and Opdyke Road just east of Interstate 75 in Auburn Hills.

Local 4 has learned Patterson’s driver was seriously hurt and rushed to McLaren Hospital in Pontiac. Patterson, 73, also was taken to the hospital. Local 4 is told both the driver’s and Patterson’s injuries are serious but non-life-threatening.

Police say the county executive’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Walton Boulevard about 4:45 p.m. Friday when another car at the intersection failed to yield and struck Patterson’s vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle also was hurt and his injuries also were not life-threatening. In all, four people were involved in the crash.
