The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on southbound I-75 near mile marker 135 in Fort Myers.
Troopers were dispatched to the scene at 6:17 a.m. and arrived at 6:40 a.m.
Trooper Richard Verbiest said the driver of a white SUV was attempting to change lanes when he clipped a trailer being towed by another truck.
The impact caused the SUV to veer off the roadway, go airborne and crash into several trees before coming to a rest on its side.
He said it appears the deceased driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver has not been identified.
