Dayton police officer injured in I-75 crash

A Dayton police officer was transported to a local hospital after being involved in a crash on Interstate 75 near Main Street this morning.

The officer, who has not been identified, was transported by medic with injuries not considered to be life threatening, Dayton Sgt. Damon Castor said.

Officers said the officer’s cruiser was struck by a semi-tractor trailer, but it’s not clear which vehicle was at fault in the wreck.

Investigators closed I-75 south at Ohio 4 while the crash, which was reported around midnight, was cleared.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for around 40 minutes.
