NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – A North Port man is facing a traffic charge for an early morning crash that shutdown southbound I-75 for two and a half hours and injured two people.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that around 5:30 a.m. 34-year-old Ryan Suta for reasons unknown stopped his car on the Caloosahatchee Bridge at around mile marker 142, blocking both southbound travel lanes.  Suta had his car straddling the lanes facing west.

A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Rachel Robel of North Fort Myers came upon Suta’s car in the dark and couldn’t stop in time hitting the right side of Suta’s car. ┬áThe crash left Robel with minor injuries as well as her passenger, 31-year-old Jordan Izzo.

The FHP cited Suta for careless driving.
