Accident Reported Along Southbound I-75 In Rockcastle County

A man was killed ands two others were hurt in a crash on southbound I-75 in Rockcastle County Friday morning.

It happened between mile markers 56 and 58 around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say a family from McDougal, Ontario, was traveling south on I- 75 heading toward Georgia for an ATV event when the accident happened. KSP said 45-year-old Anne Bushey lost control of the pickup and ran off road hitting a light pole. Her husband, 59-year-old Paul Bushey, died instantly.

Their 17-year-old granddaughter was taken to UK Hospital and her condition is not known.

Anne was taken to Rockcastle Regional with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they believe fatigue was a factor in the crash.

Traffic was backed up for several hours southbound and also northbound because of a separate accident, where it appears a truck lost its load.

Traffic is now back to normal.
